TITLE: Early Childhood Coordinator
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
SALARY RANGE: Managers 2025-2026
REPORTS TO: Community Ed. Director
Class Summary:
Under the direction of the Community Education Director, the Early Childhood Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing early childhood programming for the district. This role ensures high-quality educational experiences for children from birth to age five and supports family and parent education initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Program Coordination: Oversee Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE), School Readiness, child care, and early learning programs in collaboration with the Child Care Coordinator. Ensure developmentally appropriate instruction and parent education.
Community Engagement & Outreach: Promote awareness and increase enrollment in early childhood programs. Advocate for early childhood education, child care, enrichment, and community education. Collaborate with school programs, county, and state agencies.
Marketing & Communication: Develop program descriptions for Community Education publications, brochures, and flyers. Seek input and approval from the Community Education Director.
Staff Supervision & Development: Conduct staff meetings, provide professional development opportunities, and ensure effective communication. Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and evaluating staff performance under the direction of the Community Education Director.
Program Compliance & Reporting: Prepare state-mandated reports for ECFE and School Readiness programs, including census records for state funding and school district enrollment projections. Ensure compliance with state laws and regulations including DHS, NAEYC and Parent Aware.
Advisory & Administrative Support: Communicate with the Community Education Director, School Board, Superintendent, and Advisory Council regarding early childhood programming and updates.
Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support the success of early childhood programs.

Problem-Solving & Leadership: Resolve conflicts professionally and foster a positive work environment.
Organizational & Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple programs, staff, and reporting requirements efficiently.
Knowledge of Early Childhood Education: Understanding of child development, curriculum planning, and parent engagement best practices.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift classroom equipment and actively engage with young children (e.g., sitting on the floor, kneeling, squatting, bending).
Work Schedule & Requirements:
Some evening availability is required for parent meetings, workshops, and community engagement events.
Degree in education with licensing in parent and /or early childhood education.
