English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher
Position Purpose
The primary responsibility of the position is to develop, implement, and maintain a standards-aligned, comprehensive ELL program that will support students’ English language acquisition by creating a classroom environment that develops competencies, knowledge, and skills in accordance with each student's ability. The ELL teacher will provide support to school staff in working with students who receive ELL services as well as serve as a liaison between the school/division personnel, the EL student and family.

The ELL teacher will provide support to school staff in working with students who receive ELL services as well as serve as a liaison between the school/division personnel, the EL student and family.
Essential Functions
- Teaches skills and knowledge utilizing curriculum designated by Campbell County Public Schools and other appropriate learning activities.
- Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of Campbell County Public Schools.
- Develops daily, written lesson plans which fulfill learning objectives consistent with CCPS’ curricula and SOLs.
- Adapts the curriculum to provide individual, small group, or remedial instruction to meet the needs of the individual student and the needs of identified subgroups of students.
- Supports the classroom teacher in adjusting the instruction and pacing of delivery, when necessary, to better meet student’s communication needs and support achievement of instructional goals.
- Analyzes student data to establish and revise academic goals to provide high standards of student achievement.
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.
- Communicates regularly with parents and school staff on student progress. Serves as liaison between the school and the parent/guardian of the EL students.
- Maintains accurate, updated ELL records in a confidential manner.
- Participates in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities.
- Administers testing in accordance with the division’s testing practices.
- Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Equipment
Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.
Travel Requirements
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles.
- Knowledge of elementary school curriculum and concepts.
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
Works in standard office and school building environments.

Qualifications Profile
- Must possess ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the public.
Education
- Bachelors from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
- Masters Degree in related area preferred.
Experience
Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels a plus.
