Anticipated STEAM, Innovation, and Library Media Specialist ~ 2025-2026 School Year

Location:  Elementary School

Start Date:  August 26, 2025


Job Description: The Teacher will develop and deliver interdisciplinary lessons that spark student curiosity and promote problem-solving, collaboration, and design thinking. This role is ideal for a creative educator with a strong foundation in science, math, digital arts, english/language arts, and engineering and a desire to push the boundaries of traditional learning with visionary ideas.

Job Goals:

  • Design and implement engaging STEAM projects and challenges for students in grades K–5.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support cross-curricular integration of STEAM concepts.
  • Incorporate technology and media tools into instruction to enhance student learning and digital literacy.
  • Foster an inclusive and student-centered learning environment that promotes inquiry, exploration, and critical thinking.
  • Maintain and manage a STEAM Lab, including materials and digital resources
  • Maintain and support the school library and the library media curriculum.
  • Support school-wide innovation initiatives and contribute to a culture of creativity and future leaders.

Job Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Education, STEAM field, or related area.
  • Valid Library Media Specialist certification.
  • Background in math, science, engineering, or a related STEAM field.
  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in library media, digital tools, educational technology, and literacy.
  • Creative, forward-thinking educator who is passionate about experiential learning.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with makerspaces, robotics, coding, and/or media art.
  • Familiarity with NGSS, ISTE standards, and design thinking methodologies.

Salary:  Negotiated Rate as per WTEA/BOE Agreement
