Brimley Area Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate 2nd Grade Teacher to join our team of educators. We are looking for an individual who is committed to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Position:
2nd Grade Teacher
Location: Brimley Area Schools, Brimley, MI
Type: Full-time, School Year Contract
Start Date: Fall 2025
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state and district curriculum standards.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing individualized support as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to enhance student learning.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and technology to accommodate different learning styles.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate effectively with families regarding progress.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school community.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate elementary endorsement.
- Strong understanding of child development and early elementary education best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to integrate technology effectively into classroom instruction.
- Experience in differentiated instruction and classroom management strategies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior teaching experience in an elementary setting.
- Experience with curriculum planning and assessment.
- Familiarity with multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and individualized instruction strategies.
