Qualifications:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in teaching from an accredited institution in the appropriate education area.

Properly certified to meet IL Teaching License Standards

Current Professional Educator License (PEL)

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, students, parents, staff, administration, and the general public.

Knowledge of relevant technology including the use of technology in the classroom.

Must have the proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis

Job Summary:
Cambridge Lakes Charter School is seeking a passionate and dynamic Elementary School Science Teacher to inspire and engage students in Kindergarten through 4th grade. The ideal candidate will foster curiosity, encourage hands-on learning, and create an interactive classroom environment that supports young learners in developing a love for science.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a science curriculum aligned with state and national standards for K-4 students.
Design engaging, hands-on lessons that introduce students to foundational science concepts.
Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to explore, ask questions, and think critically.
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners, including hands-on experiments, outdoor learning, and technology integration.
Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and parents to support student growth and achievement.
Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments.
Maintain a high level of organization of classroom materials, equipment, and safety procedures for science experiments.
Participate in school-wide events, professional development, and extracurricular activities to promote science within the Cambridge Lakes community
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Classroom based with regular interaction throughout the school.
Attendance at meetings and events outside regular school hours.
PHYSICAL CONTEXT OF THE JOB:
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift, move and/or support up to 50 pounds.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
$47,000 - $80,000
