DEPARTMENT/SITE: Technology
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Bachelor Degree or higher in Technology from accredited college or university preferred
- At least three years of relevant work experience, preferably in an educational setting
- System Administrator experience preferred
- Industry technology certifications strongly recommended
- Must have experience and knowledge of corporate level network systems and software (Vmware, Microsoft Server, Veeam, and desktop management)
- Must possess strong project management, organizational, and planning skills
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must have management and supervisory experience
- Must have customer service skills to handle difficult situations
REPORTS TO: Superintendent or Designee
SUPERVISES: Systems and Network Administrators, Webmaster, Administrative Assistant, PC Technicians
JOB GOAL: Implementation and support of the district’s educational technology Plan by integrating technology into the curriculum
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITES:
- Installation, management, maintenance, and administration of all computer systems, equipment, including but not limited to, networks, computers, phones, printers, software, and technology-based services.
- Responsible for network and computer security for equipment and personnel.
- Responsible for investigating and approval of district software to ensure compliance.
- Responsible for the creation, implementation, and approval of the District’s Technology Plan
- Responsible for submittal and funding of E-rate grant funds.
- Responsible for creation, modification, and maintenance of the district’s website.
- Work closely and support the City of Moss Point to provide technical support in compliance with the School Board approved inter-local agreement.
- Provides ethical guidelines for the use of technology in the district, providing procedures for the proper use of computers and other equipment.
- Responsible for the backup and recovery of digital data on server systems.
- Create, submit, and maintain the technology budget.
- Responsible for all technology trainings.
- Responsible for management and coordination of DOT interns into schools.
- Acts as Technology Coordinator for the Moss Point School District to the Mississippi State Department of Education, requiring attendance at state department meetings and conferences.
- All other duties as assigned by supervision.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 240 Days
Salary for this position shall be commensurate with the years of experience as determined by policies and procedures of the Moss Point School District and in accordance with the pay scale
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the School Board’s policy and evaluation of school district’s personnel.
