LEARNING DISABILITIES TEACHER-CONSULTANT (LDT-C)
The New Milford Public School District is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant (LDT-C) to provide expertise in evaluating, developing, and implementing educational programs for students with disabilities. This vital role involves collaborating with teachers, parents, and administrators to ensure our students receive the support they need to achieve their full potential.
The following experiences are an integral part of the position:
Expertise in Conducting Comprehensive Educational Evaluations: Demonstrated experience in administering and interpreting a variety of standardized assessments, conducting observations, and reviewing student records to identify learning disabilities.
Proficiency in Individualized Education Program (IEP) Development and Implementation: Proven success in collaboratively developing and implementing effective IEPs that align with student needs and NJ regulations.
Significant Experience in Providing Consultation and Support to Educators: A strong history of working with general and special education teachers to implement effective instructional strategies, accommodations, and modifications for students with disabilities.
Collaborative Engagement with Child Study Teams and Parents: Experience actively participating in IEP meetings, eligibility conferences, and communicating effectively with parents to advocate for student needs and ensure appropriate services.
Commitment to Regulatory Compliance and Record Keeping: Proven ability to maintain accurate and confidential student records in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines.
Dedication to Professional Growth and Best Practices: Experience in staying current on the latest research, legal updates, and best practices in the field of special education, particularly concerning learning disabilities.
Qualifications:
Valid New Jersey Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant Standard Certificate.
Strong understanding of New Jersey Special Education regulations (NJ Administrative Code Title 6A:14).
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Proficiency in using technology for assessment, IEP development, and communication.
Experience working in a public school setting is preferred.
