TITLE: General Worker – Child Nutrition Services
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent
REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Services Manager
JOB GOAL: To provide each student with food of high nutritious quality in an atmosphere of cleanliness, cheerfulness, and personal caring.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepares, portions, and serves food according to established standards which includes standardized recipes.
  2. Prepares, uses, and cleans dishmachine/dishroom according to established standards.
  3. Assists in accurately maintaining daily records and reports for production, temperatures, and inventory.
  4. Practices procedures which assure established safety and sanitation standards are met. 
  5. Follows through with job requirements in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
  6. Incorporates time-saving production techniques, effectively uses government commodities, and merchandise effectively.
  7. Participates in implementing cost containment measures while maintaining high quality meals and service.
  8. Attends job-related training classes and workshops.
  9. Promotes student and staff satisfaction by merchandising and serving meals in an appetizing and attractive manner.
  10. Can lift and carry 25 pounds of dead weight a minimum of 50 feet.
  11. Performs other duties assigned that relate to Child Nutrition Services cook responsibilities.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Ten-month year.  Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Educational Support Personnel.

The following are conditions of employment for new employees:
  1. Satisfactory criminal background check prior to being placed on payroll.
  2. Satisfactory child protection registry check.
  3. Mandatory direct deposit of pay.
  4. Documentation of Mantoux skin test results for entrance to school system.
