Description
The position requires an Alaska Type M teaching certificate that is sponsored by the FNSBSD. The application fee of $260.00 is required to process the certificate with the Dept. of Education.

The successful applicant must be enlisted.
This position does not accept J1 visas.
This position is for School Year 2025-2026
Job Summary: Provides direction in the learning process of the assigned JROTC students so that these students acquire basic skills and knowledge as needed in the JROTC curriculum.
Retirement: State of Alaska TRS
Bargaining Unit: Fairbanks Education Association (FEA)
Salary: Determined by the FEA Negotiated Agreement
Contract Length: Minimum of 184 days
Job Qualifications/Requirements (please review job description for qualifications and duties of the position):
- Must meet all requirements contained in appropriate military regulations and as approved by the military program office.
- Retired NCO and CO candidates who have at least a bachelor’s degree and/or master’s degree with a background in teaching, extensive experience managing complex programs, and experience working with youth groups.
- Must be of good moral character and have the mentality, positive personality, physical appearance and condition, bearing, and neatness required for favorable representation of the program and the Air Force in daily contact with the civilian community.
- Before initial employment, must meet retention medical and mental fitness standards in accordance with applicable military regulations.
- For continued employment, meet the physical requirements of the school where employed. The tables of weight described in appropriate regulations will apply for both initial and continued employment.
- Must be familiar with, and be willing to endure, extreme weather conditions the geographical location presents.
- Must, within the first school year of employment, demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with, and teach, youth in an academic environment meeting FNSBSD standards of excellence.
