Job Description: EdAdvance is seeking a qualified applicant to provide review and practice of instruction with students attending our Extended School Year. The qualified candidate will be professional, organized, and able to work independently.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide academic instruction and support to elementary students who are enrolled in an outplacement educational program serving students with social-emotional difficulties and behavioral challenges
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to engage and motivate students
- Utilize restorative practices to help students regulate their behavior, develop perspective-taking, and take personal responsibility for their actions
- Other duties as may be assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Current or recent experience as a teacher in Connecticut
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate flexibility in response to unpredictability of student academic and behavioral needs
- Active Connecticut Certification in Elementary Education (Endorsement #305 or 113) or Special Education (Endorsement #: 065, 165 or 265)
- Desire to work with students who struggle with regulating behavior and social emotional responses
- Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position
