Description

Summer School Paraeducators for 2025 summer program.

The district is seeking paraeducators for Regular Education summer programming, for the ELL/Bilingual summer program, and for the following Special Education Paraeducator positions: 

  • Pre-K Special Education
  • DLC & IRR Grade K-1
  • DLC & IRR Grades 2-5
  • VOICES Grades K-1
  • VOICES Grade 2-3
  • VOICES Grades 4-5
  • Secondary 1
  • Secondary 2
  • Torrington Transition Academy
Students may be developmentally delayed and/or may have significant educational, behavioral, and medical needs. In addition to providing teacher support in individualized programs for each student, responsibilities will also include physical support for transferring, sensory diet follow-through, safety, changing clothes, and toilet training/diaper changing. Paraprofessionals will provide supervision during outdoor play activities and in getting students on and off the bus. Familiarity with supporting ABA and conducting discrete trials may be required. Other tasks may be assigned by the teacher.

The Summer School classes will be held from July 7 through July 31, 2025, Monday through Thursday, from 8:25 a.m. - 12:40 p.m. each week.  Pay will be based upon contractual classification and scheduled rate of pay. The number of positions available will be according to student need.

Appointments are contingent upon budget approval for the summer school program.  Please note this is a 4 week summer commitment.

Location and times of all programs are subject to change based on district needs. When applying, you will be prompted to select your first, second and third choice for grade level assignments. Selection does not guarantee assignment.
