Position Overview: Brimley Area Schools is seeking a dedicated, reliable, and enthusiastic Food Service Employee to join our school district’s food service team. In this role, you will play a critical part in providing nutritious meals and supporting a healthy educational environment for students and staff in our K-12 schools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing, cooking, and serving nutritious meals according to district and USDA guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, cafeteria, and equipment.
• Set up and break down meal service lines and food stations.
• Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Adhere to proper food handling and storage procedures.
• Provide friendly and courteous service to students, staff, and visitors.
• Assist with inventory management, including stocking shelves, rotating supplies, and restocking serving areas.
• Participate in professional development and training sessions related to food safety, sanitation, and nutrition.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
• Must pass a background check and fingerprinting process as required by Michigan law for employment in public schools.
