Description

The Mid-Prairie Community School District is in search of a Special Education Teacher for the 25-26 school year. We are in search of highly qualified candidates who have a passion for working with students with disabilities, value collaboration with colleagues, and a strong desire to learn and grow as an educator. Candidates should have a valid Iowa Teaching License with appropriate endorsements required for the position or the ability to acquire the appropriate licensure and endorsements. This position requires a Strategist II ID endorsement. The district is offering a $5,000 signing bonus for any candidate with Strat. II ID endorsement selected for the position.

Qualifications:

A. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Knowledge of and enthusiasm to work with students at the designated level.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth of each student.

  • Ability to create and maintain healthy relationships with students, staff, parents and community.

  • Ability to provide instruction to effectively meet the needs of all students.

  • Ability to effectively implement multiple teaching methods (co-teaching, small group, differentiation, etc).

  • Knowledge and ability to implement the Iowa Teaching Standards.

  • Knowledge of special education evidence-based practices

  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.

  • Ability to effectively use technology for instruction, communication and data management.

  • Ability to effectively engage in professional growth individually and with collaborative teams.

  • Ability to implement federal, state and district goals with students.

  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Department of Iowa regulations.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Demonstrates effective implementation of the Iowa Teaching Standards.

  • Perform all trainings as required.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
