SUMMARY
The Grants Management Coordinator supports the Office of Federal Programs by enhancing the capacity, efficiency, and effectiveness of state and federal education grants. This role ensures compliance with grant-funded projects, activities, and programs at the school and district levels. The Grants Management Coordinator is responsible for developing and managing grant budgets, providing technical assistance for school-based programs, and writing and submitting grant applications, proposals and reports within strict deadlines. By ensuring compliance and mitigating financial risks, the Grants Management Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting Dayton Public Schools’ federal program initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide expertise and technical assistance to district and school administrators in implementing and maintaining effective school-based programming.
- Develop and implement supervision models to support building administrators in monitoring and evaluating schoolwide, and support and school-improvement programs.
- Monitor compliance using the ODEW monitoring tool for federal grants, ensuring documentation and evidence are available at the school level.
- Conduct quarterly reviews of federal and state compliance documentation at the school level.
- Collaborate with district and school administrators to support the development and implementation of schoolwide and school improvement plans (Ed Steps One Needs Assessment and One Plan).
- Maintain federal compliance documentation and ensure adherence to all state and federal regulations.
- Communicate and interpret federal laws, guidance, and mandates to district staff.
- Support grant research, development, and writing efforts.
- Provide guidelines and expertise to district administrators on budgeting, expenditure processing, and fiscal management of federal funds, primarily ESSA funds.
- Collaborate with school administrators and budget specialists to maintain accurate inventory records for federally funded programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Federal Programs.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in education, public administration, business management, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with federal grants.
- Experience working in a K-12 school district setting is required.
- Five (5) years of teaching experience preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience required.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and database/spreadsheet applications.
