Description
Greeley Elementary School is seeking an elementary school building administrative assistant to address the needs of a school office environment. This is an 11-month (August through June) full time position beginning with the 2025-26 school year.
Description:
The elementary school building secretary:
- Supports the functions of the school office and the Building Principal.
- Assists the principal in maintaining a daily calendar, meeting agendas, and planning for the school.
- Communictes and works effectively with students, staff, parents, and community members.
- Performs usual school office procedures and routines.
- Maintains confidentiality and assists teachers as directed by the building principal.
- Maintains student records in accordance with Illinois School Code and School Board policy.
- Prepares reports, correspondence, and newsletters as necessary.
- Maintains an orderly office environment.
- Processes purchase orders, incoming orders, and maintains the school’s budget in conjunction with the building principal.
- Performs bookkeeping tasks associated with the position including student activities, petty cash, and purchase order accounts.
- Maintains high standards of public relations at all times through correspondence, face-to-face public encounters, and through email and phone contact with the school community and public.
Performs other duties as directed by the Superintendent or Principal.
Qualifications:
1. Have a high energy level, as well as possess a keen understanding of an elementary school environment, child development, and a strong desire and commitment to work with elementary school level children.
2. Be able to articulate the needs of the elementary school child (physical, emotional, intellectual).
3. Have the ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and administration of an elementary school. 4. Have strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
5. Have a commitment to continuous personal and professional growth.
6. Work cooperatively and effectively communicate with colleagues.
7. Have a working knowledge of computers, software, and technology.

Hourly Rate: $24.00
Salary and fringe benefits will be evaluated annually by the School Board.
