Phoenix-Talent School District #4 is seeking applications for the position of:
1.0 FTE BAND TEACHER - Talent Middle School

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This 1.0 FTE position begins August 22, 2025.
REPORTS TO: Building Administration
SALARY: As determined by negotiated salary schedule
JOB DESCRIPTION: Plans and implements band instruction for middle school-aged students. Designs and delivers high-quality instruction. Compassionately and effectively manages the classroom environment. Collaborates with a great group of other professionals. Demonstrates joy and optimism for student achievement. Demonstrates patience and support for students' social and emotional well-being.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Valid Oregon Teaching License with appropriate endorsement.
2. Preference may be given to those bilingual in Spanish and English.
3. Supervise music students in classes, ensembles, solos, concerts, programs in the community, and stage productions where desirable.
4. Organizes band groups and participates in district band activities.
5. Organizes band groups for entertainment at games and pep assemblies as directed by principal.
6. Assists small groups.
7. Encourage student participation in solo and ensemble contests, and helps students prepare for participation in these events.
8. Finds and orders necessary music and supplies
9. Assists with the preparation of the budget by defining the budget needs of their program and submitting it to the appropriate supervisor.
10. Physical demands needed: ability to communicate with students, co-workers, and the public; ability to communicate over the telephone; ability to respond to telephone, bells, students, co-workers, etc.; ability to respond to classroom disturbances, visual cues, student requests, etc.; ability to operate office equipment; ability to carry or lift light loads (25 lbs).
