Chinese Immersion - 5th Grade

TITLE:  Elementary School Chinese Immersion Teacher

• Bilingual (Mandarin) required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Illinois Standard Teacher’s Certificate (Type 03 or Type 04)

• Foreign Language - Chinese (Mandarin) endorsement required

• Prior immersion classroom teaching experience preferred

REPORTS TO:  Building Principal

SUPERVISES:  Students participating in the Chinese Immersion Program

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understand and implement effective teaching strategies for immersion language learners

• Experience in teacher collaboration and problem-solving skills

• Experience with curriculum development and assessment/evaluation design

• Willingness to work cooperatively with parents in an immersion context

• Ability to use technology as a language learning and instructional tool
