CONTRACT DAYS: 190 Days- 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
SUPERVISES: NA
GENERAL SUMMARY: The Secretary/Receptionist at Raymond High School serves as the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere. This role involves managing the front office, handling phone calls, responding to inquiries, and directing visitors appropriately. The secretary/receptionist is responsible for maintaining student records, scheduling appointments, assisting with school communications and social media, and supporting administrative staff with clerical tasks. Other duties include processing paperwork, student attendance, and payroll, while also ensuring the smooth operation of daily office activities. Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills are essential, along with discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED):
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience in a receptionist or customer service role.
Familiarity with school policies and procedures is a plus.
Proficient in basic computer skills and office software.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Front Desk Management: Greet students, parents, and visitors with a warm and welcoming demeanor. Answer and direct phone calls as needed. Manage the flow of traffic in and out of the school office.
Student and Parent Assistance: Assist students and parents with inquiries, providing information about school policies, events, and procedures. Coordinate with teachers and staff to address student-related concerns efficiently.
Administrative Support: Assist with the administrative tasks associated with a busy high school office. Collaborate with other administrative staff to support the overall functioning of the school.
Security Procedures: Monitor and implement District and School security procedures to ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors.
Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and ensure compliance with all FERPA, District and School privacy regulations. Safeguard student records, disciplinary matters, and any other confidential information related to the school.
