Essential Role Responsibilities:

  • Meet with Artistic Director, Director and SD to review plans,  paint elevations, deadlines and stage limitations for painting

  • Oversees paint supplies and equipment

  • Collaborates with Production Manager and TD to make purchases needed for all paint needs

  • Maintain safe, organized and tidy work spaces 

  • Paint supplies and paint sink cleaned thoroughly and properly hung to dry. Use paint tarps at all times

  • Leave time daily to clean and organize work areas - safety and cleanliness are priorities

  • Stage must be cleared of all building materials and swept before 3:30pm each day for rehearsal

  • All tools and equipment must be stowed/locked up at the end of each day

  • This job requires flexible hours

 

Skills Required:

  • Broad skill base and knowledge in scenic painting, various scenic paint texturing, color mixing/palettes 

  • Knowledge of a wide variety of painting techniques,  materials and methods used in the theater to paint theatrical scenery

  • Familiarity with reading paint elevations and plans from Scenic Designers
