The SouthWest Metro Intermediate District #288 has an immediate and full-time Special Education Paraprofessional opening for the TCU Discover program located in Le Center, MN.

The Discovery Program serves students at the TCU, Le Center K-8 location. Discovery is an Emotional/Behavioral Program (EBD). 

Description:

Special Education Paraprofessional, 7 hours a day for 183 Contract Days. 
 
Efficiently and effectively assist in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning program in a special education setting while working under the supervision of a supervising teacher.  Performs support work assisting students in meeting educational, communication, emotional, physical and behavioral goals of special needs students.  Works Individually or in small groups. 
 
Pay & Benefits: 
The pay range for this position is $20.00-$24.00 per hour, with the opportunity to earn up to $4.80 more per hour when completing continuing education.  A competitive and comprehensive benefit package is also available:

Job Summary:
Provide support by working directly with students to increase their academic, social/behavioral, communication, and study skills under the direction of the teacher(s).
 
Qualifications:
•          Two years of study at an institution of higher education (60 college credits) OR an Associate degree (or higher) OR the successful completion of the Paraeducator training and assessments (District funded).
•          Experience working with students with significant disabilities is preferred, but not required.  
•          Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) required. Training is offered by the school district.
•          Capable of discretion/confidentiality.
•          The ability to obtainPCA/CFSS certification.
