Job Summary: Provides services to students and staff that contribute to the creation and maintenance of an orderly, safe school environment and efficient, high quality operations that positively impact the education of children. Provides support to classroom teachers and other building personnel, assists with the supervision of children and transitions that occur during the day, demonstrates a positive attitude and growth mindset, and consistently performs within the role in ways that assist with the improvement of work processes.  Additional responsibilities  include outdoor arrival and/or dismissal and recess/lunch duties throughout the year.

Position Information:
  • Part-time with no benefits
  • Range 10, Starting Salary $12.87
  • Monday through Friday work schedule; 184 days per year
  • 5 hours per day
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Provide supervision to large groups of children in the cafeteria, on the playground, in the classroom during indoor recess, and during transitions between areas.
  2. Monitor student behavior as directed by policy and procedures.
  3. Monitor playground and school building for unauthorized persons and follow established protocol.
  4. Assist children at lunch and recess as needed with respect to health and safety.
  5. Wipe tables in the cafeteria and clean up spills and messes as needed.
  6. Encourage good manners and appropriate student behavior.
  7. Communicate with teachers and the principal concerning issues that arise.
  8. Provide support to individual students or small groups as requested.
  9. Provide classroom support and coverage for classroom teachers as assigned.
  10. Provide arrival and dismissal supervision of students as assigned by the Principal.
  11. Make copies of requested documents including instructional material for classroom use.
  12. Provide laminating, book binding, and poster making services to enhance classroom activities as available.
  13. Prepare materials for student activities and hang up student work as requested.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designee.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Documents:

  • Current PA Criminal History background check
  • Current Federal Criminal (FBI) background check
  • Current Child Abuse background check
