High School Science Teacher

You will have the opportunity to:

• Build a comfortable routine within each of your regularly scheduled high school classes
• Create an engaging classroom environment that is conducive to learning, encourages student interest, and maintains standards of behavior
• Tailor a program of study to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of your students, using District-approved curriculum
• Integrate modern technology into lesson design through Google Classroom and a one-to-one student technology ratio­
• Demonstrate higher order thinking skills by embedding instruction with high-level depth-of-knowledge questioning techniques
• Guide learning by establishing objectives for lessons, units, and projects, maintain records of progress, and adjust instruction accordingly to maximize student learning
• Collaborate with colleagues in focused learning teams, coordinate with fellow subject-area teachers, and communicate with students and parents to further education-related goals

A qualified candidate will possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree
• Michigan teaching certification with secondary endorsements in relevant subject areas:­­­
  • Biology (DA)
  • Physics (DE)
  • Chemistry (DC)
  • General Science (DI or DX)
