Position: Head Varsity Football Coach 
Location: Fairport Harbor High School, Fairport Harbor, OH
Reports To: Athletic Director/Principal 
Employment Type: Part-Time/Seasonal

Position Summary:
Fairport Harbor Schools is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Head Varsity Football Coach to lead the Fairport Harbor Skippers football program. The ideal candidate will be passionate about mentoring student-athletes, fostering their growth both on and off the field, and building a competitive football program that upholds the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and academic achievement.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive football program that aligns with the school's mission and values.
• Provide leadership, organization, and supervision for the football team during practices, games, and other team-related activities.
• Foster the physical, mental, and social development of student-athletes.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain assistant coaches, ensuring alignment with the program's philosophy.
• Promote academic success by supporting student-athletes’ educational goals and monitoring academic performance.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by adhering to health and safety standards and protocols.
• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, school administrators, and the community.
• Manage team budgets, equipment, and facilities in collaboration with the Athletic Director.
• Uphold and enforce the rules and regulations of the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA).

Qualifications:

• Previous coaching experience at the high school level (head coaching experience preferred).
• In-depth knowledge of football techniques, strategies, and regulations.
• Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with players, staff, and the community.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• A commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the team and school community.
• CPR, First Aid, and concussion certification
• Ohio Pupil Activity Permit required
• BCI/FBI

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education, sports management, or a related field.
• Experience with strength and conditioning programs.
• Track record of program development and success.
