Job Summary
Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in the education setting work with learners who have a variety of communication needs, generally related to articulation, language, voice, fluency and early literacy. Speech-language pathologists also support learners who have complex communication needs associated with disabilities such as autism, physical impairment and head injury. GWAEA staff can provide screening, evaluation, consultation, and therapy for educationally significant problems that children have with language, voice, articulation, and stuttering.
Your work as a Speech-Language Pathologist provides services to individuals with communicative disabilities, birth-21, through a variety of service delivery models, while collaborating and integrating within the total educational framework. Qualifications
- Master's degree related to speech-language pathology from an accredited institution.
- Iowa license with B-21 Speech-Language Pathologist endorsement, or Department of Public Health license with IA Board of Educational Examiners Statement of Professional Recognition.
