MIDDLE SCHOOL ELA

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum B.A/B.S degree in teaching from an accredited institution in the appropriate education area.  

  • Current Professional Educator License (PEL).

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, students, parents, staff,  administration, and the general public.  

  • Knowledge of relevant technology including the use of technology in the classroom.  

  • Meet professional teacher education requirements.

  • Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis. 

REPORTS TO: Upper School Principal

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English Language Arts (ELA) lessons aligned with state standards and curriculum objectives.

  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and promote student engagement.

  • Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to students and parents.

  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to academic growth and social-emotional development.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement interdisciplinary units and projects.

  • Integrate technology effectively into instruction to enhance learning experiences and digital literacy skills.

  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in ELA instruction.

  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and academic expectations.

  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior incidents in accordance with school policies.

  • Implement and enforce school-wide procedures and policies to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Classroom-based with regular interaction throughout the school.

  • Attendance at meetings and events outside regular school hours.

PHYSICAL CONTEXT OF THE JOB:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift, move and/or support up to 50 pounds.  

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

  • $47,000 - $80,000

  • Employer paid individual health insurance options.

  • TRS Eligible.
