MIDDLE SCHOOL ELA
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum B.A/B.S degree in teaching from an accredited institution in the appropriate education area.
Current Professional Educator License (PEL).
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, students, parents, staff, administration, and the general public.
Knowledge of relevant technology including the use of technology in the classroom.
Meet professional teacher education requirements.
Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
REPORTS TO: Upper School Principal
POSITION SUMMARY:
Plan and deliver engaging English Language Arts (ELA) lessons aligned with state standards and curriculum objectives.
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and promote student engagement.
Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to academic growth and social-emotional development.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement interdisciplinary units and projects.
Integrate technology effectively into instruction to enhance learning experiences and digital literacy skills.
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in ELA instruction.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and academic expectations.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior incidents in accordance with school policies.
Implement and enforce school-wide procedures and policies to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Classroom-based with regular interaction throughout the school.
Attendance at meetings and events outside regular school hours.
PHYSICAL CONTEXT OF THE JOB:
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift, move and/or support up to 50 pounds.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
$47,000 - $80,000
