Position Overview:
Hispanic Family Liaison -  183 days per year, 8 hours.day  

Essential Job Functions:
The Hispanic Family Liaison collaborates with students, families, and staff to accelerate the academic achievement of Hispanic students and strengthen school to home connections. Establish effective communication between home and school community through outreach.

 

Engage and facilitate the involvement of Hispanic families in the educational process by working as a communication liaison between parents/guardians and school staff. Promote family participation in school conferences and events through phone calls and meetings.  Collaborate with Student Support Services to provide resources to support Hispanic students and their families. Collaborate with Student Support Services to increase positive learning behaviors that set a foundation for student achievement. Participate in student support meetings for Hispanic students and families. Provide written and oral language translations, of a brief nature, as needed to facilitate student, family, and school communication.  Educate and inform the school community regarding Hispanic student and family support.  Collaborate with district leadership, school staff, families, and other stakeholders to support the academic success and social-emotional well-being of Hispanic students. Other duties as assigned.

*  Most work hours are during the school day following the school calendar with occasional evenings for parent/teacher conferences and outreach events.

Required Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent minimum. 

2. Fluent in Spanish and English with strong reading, writing, and speaking skills.

3. Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

4. Experience working with Hispanic students and families in the United States. 

5. Commitment to equity and inclusion in education.

Preferred Qualifications:

1.  Bachelor's degree preferred.

2. Experience working with Hispanic students and families in the United States.
