Food Service Worker - 5.25 hours per day

Location:                    Woodside Intermediate School
 
POSITION DESCRIPTION:    Assists in the preparation of food for school lunch programs as directed by the Cafeteria Manager; does related work as required and must be willing to fill in as needed in all areas, possibly in another school.  Assists between lunches in a variety of duties.  Ability to work with others.
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assists in preparation of meals and serving of meals.
2. Serves food as directed to meet the recipe specifications.
3. Cleans Kitchen as needed.
4. Performs cashiering duties in some positions.
5. Maintains established departmental and district policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and health and safety standards, and HACCP standards.
6. Assumes care of equipment used in performance of work.
7. Lifting is required.
8. Ability to participate and complete all required training.
9. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Knowledge of routine duties related to the preparation and
3. serving of food, including cleaning of the kitchen area and cooking equipment.
4. Able to understand written material, rules, regulations, and apply the material to the position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Standing:(Continuous) remain standing on one’s feet on hard surfaces.
2. Walking: (Frequent) moving from area to area.
3. Lifting: (Frequent) Raising or lowering an object 5lbs to 50 lb.          

Compensation:          $17.91 per hour per MEUI contract; sick time and personal time as per the MEIU contract.  M-F, 5.25 hours per day (Hours to be determined).  Health insurance is not provided.
