POSITION LOCATION:              Pioneer High School

SALARY:                                    Cat. D, AAEA/OP Salary Schedule

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:  Principal


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

The following is a list of qualifications for the position, any one of which may be waived by the Board in exercising its prerogative to determine qualifications.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED);  with a minimum of three years related experience/or training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Meet and greet students daily
  • Answer telephones, respond to routine questions, set appointments, and route calls to appropriate persons
  • Assist with mailings
  • Process enrollments and changes to student database
  • Distribute student attendance information to staff
  • Verify absences by contacting parents/guardians
  • Administer care to students when ill, contact parents, etc.
  • Compile state mandated immunization records
  • Input & print progress reports and grades
  • Receive visitors, new parents, and students
  • Answer questions, resolve student conflicts and concerns
  • Handle monies for student fundraising
  • Maintain and update school calendar
  • Prepare various reports
  • Maintain school and student records
  • Assist with count day preparation
  • Coordinate registration process
  • Back up other offices including counseling
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned
  • This is a full time position requiring regular and reliable attendance on site to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read and recognize the European Language is helpful for distributing books.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before staff.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interests, commissions, proportions, percentages, area circumference and volume.  

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to operate computer at an intermediate level to include operation of word, excel, database programs and internet. Ability to operate office machines. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community.  Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.  Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee will occasionally be required to push up to 25 lbs and must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs, such as boxes of textbooks.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
