Glenwood Springs Middle School, an EL Education Network School, is seeking a passionate and dynamic educator to join our team as a Secondary Social Studies Teacher for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year. Available immediatly or the ability to start on January 06, 2025.

Position Overview:
As an Secondary Social Studies Teacher, you will be an integral part of our collaborative team, fostering a love of learning, critical thinking, and engagement in social studies. We are looking for a teacher who is committed to building an inclusive, supportive environment where every student can succeed and make meaningful contributions to their community and the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement engaging and innovative social studies lessons that align with state standards and promote student inquiry and critical thinking.
- Utilize EL Education’s High Quality Work Library, including projects like the GSMS Life Changing Stories Project, to deepen student engagement and relevance.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to plan, assess, and refine instructional practices.
- Analyze student work and data to monitor progress and provide targeted support.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Foster a classroom culture of equity, respect, and engagement, where students feel safe to express themselves and take academic risks.
- Participate in professional development and contribute to the school’s mission and goals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of current teaching methods, educational pedagogy, and differentiated instruction.
- Experience with data analysis and using data to inform instructional decisions.
- Knowledge of state and federal educational laws and regulations.
- Proficient in using technology and educational software.
- Ability to organize and coordinate tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to engage in self-reflection and professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Colorado State Teacher License in Social Studies K-12 or similar (or ability to obtain).
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in a relevant education discipline.
Physical and Mental Demands:
- Works in a standard office and school building environment.
- Ability to interact with students, staff, and parents in a professional and positive manner.
Compensation:
- Salary Range: $54,000 to $82,320 (Based on education and years of relavant teaching experience). Annual salary is based on a full-time 8-hour workday (FTE 1).
