Title of this Position:  Special Education Supervisor
Reports To:    Director of Special Education.
Description of Position:

Providence Creek Academy is seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to join our leadership team and oversee the expansion of our Special Education Department. The Special Education Supervisor will play a key role in providing leadership and direction for all special education services, ensuring comprehensive support for our K-8 students. The Supervisor will be responsible for the management, coordination, and evaluation of special education programs, working to uphold and enhance the rigorous academic standards at PCA.

As a core member of the Providence Creek Academy leadership team, the Special Education Supervisor will report directly to the Director of Special Education and collaborate with other school leaders to advise on and support the school’s educational programs. This role includes overseeing the special education team, providing coaching and professional development to staff, and ensuring the implementation of individualized student support strategies.

Major Responsibilities Include: 
Under the supervision of the Director of Special Education the Special Education Supervisor will: 
  1. Foster a positive attitude and growth mindset while creating a collaborative, respectful, and inclusive environment focused on student success.
  2. Supervise and support the special education team, ensuring high-quality service delivery, effective classroom management, and the implementation of appropriate accommodations for students.
  3. Work with team members across departments to develop timelines, project plans, and schedules for meetings and special education services.
  4. Develop, implement, and monitor strategies for special education programs, adjusting approaches as necessary to ensure student progress and success.
  5. Collaborate with external school districts and educational organizations to share best practices, resources, and professional development opportunities.
  6. Organize, maintain, and ensure the availability of materials, documents, and resources for the Special Education Department.
  7. Schedule and coordinate IEP and 504 Plan meetings with families and relevant staff, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  8. Assist with the transition from eSchool to Infinite Campus, ensuring smooth implementation.
  9. Write comprehensive, state-compliant IEPs and 504 Plans, establishing measurable goals and objectives in collaboration with teachers, parents, and support staff.
  10. Monitor student progress, adjust goals and interventions as needed, and maintain accurate documentation of all meetings, assessments, and progress reports.
  11. Provide guidance and support to staff on implementing IEPs and 504 Plans effectively, ensuring accommodations are integrated into the classroom.
  12. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to update them on student progress and address any concerns regarding their IEP or 504 Plan.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
Education: 
  • Master’s degree in Education or related content area
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in teaching and special education leadership/instruction preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple projects while ensuring that goals and priorities are met.
  • Experience with public relations and communication with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience leading school improvement activities resulting in improved student achievement and school experience supporting instructional programs is preferred.
  • Experience in writing IEPs and 504 Plans and monitoring student progress
Skills
Ability to: 
  1. Communicate effectively.

  3. Remain highly organized.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  5. Proficient in eSchool and Schoology.
Compensation: 
This position will require approximately 37.5 hours per week per week for 11 months.
Compensation:  Based on experience and education.
