Substitute Teacher

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provides temporary instructional support in the absence of a regular classroom teacher. This role involves implementing lesson plans, managing classroom activities, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Substitute Teachers may work across various grade levels and subjects, adapting to the specific needs of each assignment to maintain continuity in students' education.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor's degree preferred for long-term substitute positions
- Teaching certification may be preferred for some substitute positions.
- Prior teaching experience or experience working with children is beneficial.
- Instruction and Lesson Implementation:
- Follow lesson plans provided by the absent teacher to ensure alignment with the curriculum.
- Adapt instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners when needed.
- Provide assistance to students with assignments, classroom activities, and questions.
- Classroom Management:
- Maintain a respectful, safe, and orderly environment conducive to learning.
- Enforce classroom rules and school policies, managing student behavior positively.
- Address any minor disruptions or conflicts to minimize interruption to learning.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Leave notes or a summary of the day’s events and any student concerns for the regular teacher.
- Communicate with school administration about any significant incidents or student issues.
- Professionalism and Adaptability:
- Exhibit professionalism, punctuality, and preparedness for each assignment.
- Adapt quickly to different classroom environments and student needs.
