TITLE: Building Secretary
(10-month – 8 hour position)
QUALIFICATIONS: 1) High School Diploma G.E.D. Certificate
2) Utilizes proper language and grammatical skills
3) Ability to use and communicate effectively through technology
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
PERFORMANCE
RESPONSIBILITIES: 1) Obtain, gather, and organize pertinent data as needed, and put into usable form.
2) Maintain a regular filing system, as well as a set of locked confidential files, and process incoming correspondence as instructed.
3) Order and maintain supplies as needed.
4) Perform any bookkeeping tasks associated with the specific position.
5) Maintain a schedule of appointments and make arrangements for conferences and interviews.
6) Perform the usual office routines and practices associated with a busy yet productive and smoothly-run office; such as, maintain log of visitors, daily teacher attendance log, and a record for substitute teachers.
7) Maintain such student records as shall be required.
8) Receive and route all incoming calls and mail.
9) Assist teachers in the operation or supervision of the copier machine.
10) Place necessary data in the computer including, but not limited to, student records and attendance.
11) Responsible for working with all District personnel to provide a harmonious operation of the School District.
12) Perform any and all duties as requested by the building principal.
All vacation time must be taken during non-attendance days unless special approval is obtained.
SALARY: As determined by the Board of Education
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel
