TITLE:  GROUNDSKEEPER
 
WORK SCHEDULE:  12- month
 
SALARY CLASSIFICATION:   Support Staff Salary Schedule - Group B

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
To provide safe and aesthetically pleasing landscaping, playing fields, athletic fields, parking and walkway areas.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Installs and repairs irrigation systems;
• Mows and trims grass;
• Cares for all grass, trees, plants and flowers;
• Repairs and maintains grounds equipment;
• Conducts safety inspections of playground equipment, repairs as needed;
• Removes debris from drives, parking lots, sidewalks and other areas as required;
• Removes grounds trash and litter;
• Prepares athletic fields for events;
• Maintains swimming pool, including water chemistry;
• Performs minor maintenance duties as assigned;
• Performs other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS   
A. REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred;
• One year of experience preferred;
• Ability to communicate and work well with staff;
• Possession of a valid Arizona driver’s license

B.  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

•  Ability to lift 75 lbs without assistance

D.  LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY:  Must use sound judgment in performing job.

EVALUATION PROCEDURE:  In accordance with provisions specified in Governing Board policy.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:  Reports to the Director of Facilities

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:  None.
