NJROTC Instructor 9-12

Position Purpose
 

 

Cocke County High School is seeking a highly motivated,
professional, energetic and certified Navy, Marine Corps, or
Coast Guard retiree (W2-O6) with a Bachelor’s Degree for its
Senior Naval Science Instructor (SNSI) position. Position is
available on or before 1 July, 2025. The SNSI will serve
alongside a seasoned Naval Science Instructor as an integral
member of a two-instructor team. The applicant must be
available to work after hours and some weekends to support
extracurricular activities and cadet travel to school
activities, competitions, and community service events. The
school, located in Newport, Tennessee, is seated at the
foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, providing unparallelled
quality of life with numerous outdoor and cultural
opportunities. Cocke County High School has a population of
approximately 1,200 students and an average unit enrollment of
115 cadets. The school operates on a 4X4 Block schedule (4
classes per day) and enjoys the strong support of the school
district, the local community, and local veteran’s groups. This
is a 12-month contract at guaranteed Navy Minimum Instructor
Pay. Instructors also receive a coaching stipend. For further

Additional Duties 

 

-  Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Equipment 

 

-  Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone. 

 

  

Travel Requirements 

 

-  Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. 

  

Work Schedule 

 

-  Standard teacher work schedule as set forth in the Teachers' Unit Contract, this poisiton is 12 months.

 

 

 

Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards 

 

-  Works in standard office and school building environments.

Qualifications Profile 

  

Certification/License: 

- must be willing to complete all requirements to obtain TN licesure

 

-  Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation. 

  

Education: 

 

-  Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
