Summary
Collegium Charter School (CCS) is seeking candidates for the position of Special Education IEP Writer. Under the supervision and direction of the Director of Student Services, the Special Education IEP Writer will write IEPs, input classroom IEP goal data into IEP Writer, and provide written notice to assure compliance with special education regulations. For the qualified candidate, we will consider a part-time or full-time schedule, as well as working remotely and/or in-person.
Job Responsibilities

- Writes legally-defensible IEP, following state, federal and Collegium expectations.
- Collect, analyze, and report progress monitoring data in an objective and measurable manner.
- Monitors student programs to ensure that the interventions within the IEP are research based and are adjusted in response to the changing needs of students, based on ongoing progress-monitoring data.
- Works cooperatively with other administrators, supervisors, and staff to perform job responsibilities as outlined.
- Actively and effectively communicates with supervisors, faculty, and the Director of Student Services.
- Demonstrates effective planning, organization and teamwork.
- Displays personal qualities that reflect favorably upon the individual and the school.
- Promotes good citizenship through actions as a role model
- Conducts himself or herself according to professional, ethical principles that reflect favorably upon the individual and the school
- Maintains highest level of confidentiality pertaining to school and students’ information, progress, and records
- Abides by the CCS Employee Manual, and all current PA Public School expectations
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years teaching in Special Education teaching.
- Bachelor Degree in Special Education
- PA State Special Education Teacher Certification
- Knowledge of Special Education laws and regulations.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience with writing IEPs with the IEPWriter system.
- Demonstrated competencies in the areas of Special Education paperwork and compliance.
- Knowledge of Pennsylvania Department of Education Learning Standards and Charter School Law as it relates to special education.
- Advanced knowledge and experience with IEP Writer.
- Required Clearances include Criminal Background Clearance (Act 34), Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151), and FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114), all dated within one year of receipt.
- Meets criteria for employment in a PA Public School.
