- Provides students and teachers with a wide variety and range of materials and services for remediation and enrichment, including media consultation
- Operates Learning Resource Center as an extension of the classroom
- Directs instruction of students in large group, small group, or one-to-one activities
- Provides motivation and guidance in reading; promotes appreciation of literature
Job Summary:
- Supervises and evaluates the LRC assistant
- Provides instructional resource materials for staff
- Works with staff and students in the development of embedding instructional technology within the approved curriculum
- Supports students with their development of independent use of instructional technology.
- Plans and conducts staff development activities approved by the district which encourage the use of technology in instruction
- Assists staff and students in the use of instructional technology by co-teaching, modeling,with assigned teams
- Promotes appreciation of literature through such activities as book talks, storytelling,displays, group discussions, multimedia presentations, etc which focus on district initiatives
- Serves as a liaison to community resources (i.e. Woodridge Public Library).
- Facilitates the implementation of the Illinois Computer Science Standards through the district technology curriculum
- Assists with the selection of new materials to meet curriculum expectations and standards
- Informs and assists the teaching staff of newly acquired materials and equipment
- Maintains a comprehensive and efficient system for organizing all LRC materials and instructs staff and students in their use
- Evaluates and makes recommendations for the implementation of the “Illinois School Library Media Program Guidelines” in District 68
- Prepares, recommends, and administers LRC budget accounts under the direction of the Director of Technology
- Performs such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by administration
Qualifications:
Certification and qualifications as set by the State Board of Education and the School Code.
Instructional Technology Endorsement Preferred.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience per WEA Collective Bargaining Agreement
