EXPERIENCE: School bus driver experience (CDL B, P&@) preferred
SALARY RANGE: $22.83 (Step 0) - $27.62 (Step 7)
PURPOSE: Operates District busses in a manner that ensures students are safely transported to and from their destinations, and in accordance with departmental policies, and Ohio law.
SUPERVISOR: Transportation Supervisor
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Possess at minimum, a valid Ohio Commercial Driver License, class B, with Passenger & School Bus endorsements. Training may be available for the right candidate.
B. Equivalent of a high school diploma.
C. Meets all requirements and qualifications outlined in the Ohio Revised Code.
D. A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
E. Complies with the Board’s drug and alcohol policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The following essential functions represent the fundamental job duties of the employment position. If, through reasonable accommodation, a disabled person can substantially perform the essential functions of the job, such accommodation may be made.
A. Operates District school busses in accordance with all rules and regulations.
B. Completes inspections of the bus to ensure all equipment is present and working properly.
C. Maintains the security and confidentiality of all privileged information.
D. Oversees student behavior and reports any student misconduct to the appropriate staff.
E. Assists students entering and exiting the bus, as needed.
F. Provides passengers with medical or health care, as necessary.
G. Completes all trips in accordance with the predetermined routes and time schedule.
H. Complies with all traffic laws.
I. Reports instances of suspected child abuse and/or neglect to law enforcement.
J. Participates in professional growth activities including health and safety trainings.
K. Complies with all District policies and procedures.
L. Performs other functions as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The employee may be required to perform the essential functions of the job under the following conditions and by completing tasks of the following nature:
A. Physically moving supplies and equipment.
B. Operating or traveling as a passenger in a motor vehicle.
C. Exposure to extreme weather conditions and temperature changes.
D. Physical ability to sit for long periods of time.
E. Working beyond regularly-scheduled business hours and on weekends.
F. Exposure to vapors from cleaning solvents and personal hygiene products.
G. Exposure to risk of contact with communicable diseases and blood-borne pathogens.
H. Interaction with disorderly and potentially hostile students and members of the community.
