NOTES: 245 Day contract / Benefits include healthcare and retirement / Earn between $16.74-$22.66(based on years of experience)
TITLE: Middle School Secretary
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Has a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate
- Has the ability to read and follow written directions
- Has three years of varied and increasingly responsible clerical or secretarial experience
- Has the ability to type at a skill level of 50 words per minute
- Has specialized skills in bookkeeping, basic mathematics, filing, telephone, and computer operation
- Has demonstrated competency for assigned responsibilities and the ability to work under pressure
- Has the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Has demonstrated ability or potential to relate to and work effectively with students, staff, and community
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB GOAL: To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office so that the office's maximum positive impact on the education of children can be realized
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be familiar with and follow written statutes, policies, procedures and directions from supervisor related to job responsibilities
- Perform the usual office routines and practices associated with a busy yet productive middle school office
- Prepare and type correspondence for the principal and others
- Maintain such student records as shall be required
- Serve as activity fund treasurer
- Receive and route all incoming calls
- Serve as receptionist for the principal
- Maintain a daily teacher attendance log, and records for substitute teachers
- Monitor time lines that signal school opening, class changing, school closing, etc.
- Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials as requested and time permits
- Process all assigned clerical duties assigned by supervising staff members
- Maintain a schedule of appointments and makes arrangements for conferences and other meetings
- Maintain a log of visitors to the school
- Perform other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by the supervisor

- Hourly
