Description

I.              TITLE:  Assistant Payroll Clerk.

II.           QUALIFICATIONS:      

  1. High School Diploma.
  2. Suitable experience and competency in major math functions.
  3. Strong computer skills.
  4. Working knowledge of basic office procedures and operation of office equipment and machines.
  5. Previous experience preferred, but not mandatory.
  6. Ability to work with staff and the public.
  7. Alternatives to the above qualifications may be appropriate and acceptable.

III.         REPORTS TO:  Payroll Practicioner.

IV.        JOB GOALS:

         To support the delivery of School District 91's written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement.

         To assist in the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

V.           ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Performs weekly time keeping and leave audits.
  2. Assist with employee setup in systems.
  3. Answers employee questions and assists employees with problems in a courteous and efficient manner.
  4. Prepares needed correspondence and completes employment verifications as requested.
  5. Maintains accurate records and completes assigned tasks.
  6. Performs all other payroll duties as assigned such as, maintaining staff records, leave records, various payroll account balancing and reconciling, etc.
  7. Has regular and predictable attendance.
  8. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality.

   

VI.        OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

A.           Performs all other duties as assigned.

VII.      TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

         This is a part-time position scheduled for 19.75 hours per per week. This position is scheduled for 244 days per year. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 9 - $20.70 or $21.74 per hour depending on experience.

         This is an "at will" position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law.  The "employment at will" policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91.

 

VIII.   EVALUATION:

         Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Director of Human Resources and Finance in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.

        

This position has been given an overall physical classification of light duty.
