Human Resources Assistant

Candidate must provide administrative support to the Human Resources Office with maintaining accurate employee resources, assisting with the recruitment and hiring process, onboarding, offboarding, managing internal and external communications for the department and other key HR areas. The candidate must be highly organized, self-motivated and able to prioritize work. He/she must be detail oriented and able to produce work with a high degree of accuracy. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Candidate must interact effectively in a professional manner with students, staff, parents and the public and be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
This is a supportive role for the HR Department that will often interact with employees and must demonstrate a service-oriented approach to the staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide general administrative support such as preparing correspondence, forms and reports, arranging meetings, composing regular correspondence, processing confidential reports and documents, filing electronic and hard copy, tracking deadlines
Provides exceptional level customer service to staff
Ensure strict confidentiality of all staff and school information
Collaborate with departments and personnel to ensure personnel needs are met and employee engagement efforts are maintained
Manage sensitive and confidential matters like personnel relations, employee relations and organizational changes, planning and protecting the security of information, data and files.Performs customer service functions by answering employee inquiries
Maintains employee files and ensure that the files are up to date
Tracks and assists with new employee background screenings and employment verification
Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding
Communicates policies and procedures to applicants and employees
Preparation and maintenance of employee files
Assists or prepares correspondence as requested
Assist with credentialing, auditing, and licenses and inspections
Contributes to team effort by assisting with projects as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma. College degree is preferred.
Excellent computer skills needed, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerSchool, as well as building and student-management systems.
Secretarial experience in educational or business environment.
