Hourly Rate: $14.00
(Sick Time, Personal Days, Paid Holidays)
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills – This person must be able to follow instructions and project positive reinforcement; work well with others; relate to and work well with students; communicate with students and staff, both individually and in group situations; good verbal and written skills desired; be able to improvise in difficult and/or unusual situations and be able to function under stress. Good verbal and written skills desired.
Characteristics/Traits – Must maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance; have control over emotions; be self-motivated, punctual, dependable in attendance, reliable in work habits, and be task oriented; exercise discretion and good judgment; be in good physical and mental health; be of good moral character; and be able to derive some degree of satisfaction interacting with students.
Education/Training – The Ohio Department of Education requires a one-year Educational Aide permit ($25.00 online fee).
Applicants must also meet one State of Ohio requirement:
Have passed the ParaPro Assessment Test or
Hold an Associate’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university or
Have completed at least 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours at an accredited college or university.
BCI/FBI background check administered at the Board of Education upon hire. ($47.25 fee)
