Centerville City Schools is seeking compassionate and caring adults to work as special education paraprofessionals. Our paraprofessionals work hand in hand with Intervention Specialists to support our students both in the general education classroom and in the special education room. Job description
Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher in implementing educational programs and activities for students with special needs
- Provide support and guidance to students in various subjects, including math and literacy education
- Collaborate with the teacher to assist in implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students
- Care for student's self-help needs including feeding, toileting, and lifting
- Assist with classroom management and behavior management strategies
- Support students in their social and emotional development
- Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to students as needed
- Help create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Ability to obtain an Educational Aide License from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting
- Familiarity with classroom routines and procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed
This position requires a passion for working with children, particularly those with special needs and a commitment to their educational growth. The paraprofessional will play a vital role in supporting the classroom teacher and helping students reach their full potential.
