Description
Ledyard Public Schools is seeking Substitute Teachers in all subject areas for the 2024-2025 school year. As a substitute teacher you serve a vitally important function in the education of our students.
Substitute teachers are responsible for following lesson plans, supervising students, maintaining a classroom environment conducive to learning and respectful of the needs of students.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required **(see below)
- Connecticut teaching certificate preferred
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Must be age 18 or older
- Enthusiasm for teaching and learning
Pay:
- The daily rate for substitute teachers is $125.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to follow directions and deliver lesson plans within a wide variety of settings
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated work ethic
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Enjoy working with middle school students
- Ability to work with a diverse student population
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer or standing to teach
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Must be able to traverse the classroom and adjust one's tone and height, by bending or leaning, in order to teach each child
