Francis Howell School District is seeking dedicated and experienced retired educators to join our team of substitute teachers. This opportunity is exclusively available for Francis Howell School District retirees.

Role Overview: Retired substitute teachers will be responsible for providing instruction and managing classroom environments in the absence of the regular teacher. Substitutes are expected to perform all
the duties of the teacher they are covering and will report to the principal at the assigned location.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a valid teaching certificate issued by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
• Successful completion of an FBI criminal history background check with fingerprints is required.

Compensation:

• Daily rate: $220

When FHSD retirees are subbing in their former non-certified position they are paid their hourly rate upon retirement, or the current entry level rate for that position (whichever is higher)
When FHSD retirees are subbing in a position from which they did not retire, they are paid according to the rates listed below.

Hourly Pay Rates:

• Cafeteria Aide: $14.99 per hour
• Custodian: $15.07 per hour
• Administrative Assistant: $15.60 per hour
• Nurse: $27.98 per hour
• Para, Personal Assistant & Classroom Assistant: $16.21 per hour
