Preschool Classroom Aide

PRESCHOOL CLASSROOM AIDE
REPORTS TO: Certified classroom teacher, and principal 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience as required by the position
- Ability to assist with instructional activities and to communicate effectively with students and school staff
- Required criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
 
JOB GOAL:
To assist the classroom teacher by working with individual and small groups of students to provide educational assistance, and support to the certified classroom teacher.
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
(Include but not limited to)
-Assists with students under the supervision of the teacher to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher.
-Helps with the supervision of students on field trips and/or events.
-Assists in building related activities such as recess, lunch room, and  playground supervision, etc.
-Promote conversation between peers and faculty to encourage language development.
-Promote independence.
-Maintain confidentiality at all times.
-Performs other appropriate duties as assigned by the teacher or administrator.
 
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year to be determined as mutually agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
