Science Olympiad Advisor
Description
Season Dates: September 5, 2024- March, 2025
Duties: This position will work specifically to lead the high school Science Olympiad club. Duties include, but are not limited to recruiting and selecting team members, scheduling and overseeing regular team practices, assist students in preparing for competitive events, coordinate scheduling for local, regional and national events, maintain regular communication with participants, families, and administration and help facilitate fundraising to support the program. In addition, you will be required to supervise/coach at meets. Applicants must be able to adjust work schedule for practices and meets.
Preferences: A BA/BS Degree and MN Teacher License with coaching certificate OR equivalent and previous experience working with high school age students. Previous experience as a participant and/or advisor.
Qualifications: A strong background in science and science olympiad competition as a participant and/or coach is required. In addition, a strong work ethic and dedication to furthering the benefits of participation in co-curricular activities is essential. Leadership skills including but not limited to organization, vision, motivation, and conflict resolution. Ability to work with students, parents, staff, and community.
