Job Description: Volunteer Coach Intern – Performing Arts    

• Position Type: Non-Supervisory Role Marching Band/Theatre/Choir/Dance
• Location: Centennial High School 
  
  Qualifications:
  • Certificate verifying completion of the NFHS online “Band Safety” course
  • Complete required human Resources “required Documentation for Volunteers” https://www.peoriaunified.org/volunteer
  • Leadership skills necessary to serve as a role model for student performers
  • Collaboration with Staff in mentoring and coaching student performers. Volunteer Interns will not provide unsupervised support to student performers nor communicate directly with parents. 
  • Knowledge of essential skills, techniques, rules and safety concerns for the activity being coached
  • Knowledge of specific injury risks in the activity to be coached
  • Knowledge of inspection of facilities and equipment for hazards and implementing necessary measures to prevent injury due to hazards
  • Skill in communicating with student performers and other staff members
  • Knowledge necessary to adhere to rules set out by Governing Body (if applicable) and Peoria Unified School District # 11

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Must be able to pass a background clearance check.
• Registration at National Federation of State High School Associations (https://nfhslearn.com/ ) for training
