POSITION TITLE: Student Intern (Open to Englewood High School TIES Students)
EFFECTIVE DATE: To be determined, 2024-2025 School Year
Position Type: Non-Exempt
Hours: To be determined (Grant paid-TIES)
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for assisting Englewood Schools staff in a variety of
duties. Possible job positions would include, but may not be limited to:
- Custodial
- Nutrition Services
- Grounds
- Building Maintenance
- Early Childhood Assitant
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Custodial-Assist in the cleaning of classrooms, halls, and lecture halls.
- Maintenance-Assist in replacing light bulbs and other light maintenance.
- Nutrition Services-Assist in Nutrition Services with preparing meals.
- Grounds-Lawn care and general grounds care.
- Early Childhood – Assist teachers and paraprofessionals with 3-6 year old pre-K activities and child care.
- For all positions, safety equipment and appropriate shoes and clothing required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
- Englewood High School Student at 16 years old or older
- English fluency will be determined through the interview process
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:
An intern works alongside a full time Englewood Schools employee.
- Has the ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and co-workers
- Has the ability to meet attendance standards and work the hours necessary to perform the essential functions
- Maintain a generally positive attitude
- Observe all district policies and procedures
- Adhere to federal and state legislation, regulation, and policies
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequent lifting up to 20 (twenty) pounds
- Occasional lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds
- Frequent to constant standing, extensive walking
- Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, and reaching

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Mostly clean and comfortable
- Occasional exposure to adverse weather.
REPORTS TO:
To be determined depending on assignment.
Positions approved and monitored by department supervisors.

School campus TBD
SALARY:
Hourly rate $14.42 per hour.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
New hires or rehires will be responsible for the fingerprint processing fee required for background checks through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
