Job Description
Before and After School Care Program staff must enjoy working with school-aged children/teens. They are responsible for:
  • Ensuring safety of all children in the program
  • Signing children in upon arrival and out when they leave
  • Creating an enriching, fun, and safe environment
  • Planning activities
  • Interacting positively with children and their families
  • Working independently as well as with a team
The candidate must have a positive attitude and serve as a role model to participants in the program. This position is ideal for someone who is willing to work a few hours in the afternoon, is creative, child oriented, responsible, and dedicated.
 
Requirements
This person must be available to work:
  • Before school
    • Monday - Friday 6:45am - 8:00am
    • Meets on regular school days when school is in session.
  • After school:
    • Monday thru Friday – 2:30pm - 6:00pm
    • Meets on regular school days when school is in session.
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Protecting God’s Children Certificate and Background Check required.
  • A background in education and/or college course in recreation education is preferred but are not required.
  • Childcare work experience is preferred but is not required.
  • Other training may be required after employment begins.  
Hours
This is a part-time, unbenefited position, hours not to exceed 29 hours per week as per a schedule developed by the Principal.

Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently be required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, feel with hands, reach with arms, walk up or down multiple flights of stairs, and be physically able to perform duties as assigned, including the ability to lift up to 20-30 pounds if needed.
  • Works in standard office and school building environments but also has ability to work outdoors during outdoor student activities.
