Description

TITLE:                                              Maintenance/Custodian
 
REPORTS TO:                                 Program Administrator and Buildings and Grounds Coordinator
 
QUALIFICATIONS:                       High school diploma/equivalency
Experience in building and maintenance preferred
                                                            Cooperative team player, excellent driving skills
                                                            No lifting restrictions
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Performance:

  • Assumes daily responsibility for securing and opening facilities.
  • Takes initiative in completing cleaning tasks in a timely manner.
  • Anticipates building needs in replacing and restocking supplies.
  • Assembles and/or repairs classroom furniture as assigned.
  • Performs routine plumbing and electrical repairs as assigned.
  • Performs general cleaning of facilities (vacuuming, carpet cleaning, air conditioners, mopping,
        bathrooms, windows, etc.), including satellite sites.
  • Performs summer building maintenance (e.g. painting, carpet cleaning, stripping and waxing floors).
  • Performs seasonal maintenance ground activities, including snow removal and cutting grass.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Communication:
 
  • Confers with Coordinator of Buildings and Grounds and Program Administrator on a regular basis regarding building maintenance activities and custodial duties.
  • Communicates in a helpful, positive and efficient manner with students, peers, supervisors, principals, parents and visitors.

  • Follows policies, procedures, and work rules of the Cooperative.
  • Is flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Uses judgment appropriately.
  • Conducts self in appropriate and ethical manner.
  • Is responsive to staff requests.

  • Dresses appropriately.

Salary:                  $15-$17/hour dependent upon experience
